Homes Built with Architectural Diversity and Quality

Did you know many of the homes at Bellarine Springs are built with natural stone entrance features and need the rare skills of a stone mason to craft and shape each piece before laying in place.

Geoff Reeve, CEO of Pinnacle Living and builders of Bellarine Springs, explains in more detail the quality features of the homes at Bellarine Springs.

Two of our five styles of homes have a beautiful stacked stone entrance feature (Ormond and Henderson homes). Recently someone asked us if it was ‘natural stone’ or ‘man made stone’. What a question!  Allow me to explain why we insist on ‘natural stone’ in our efforts to build beautiful and quality homes.

As a construction engineer, I appreciate that quality natural stone cladding has a higher cost than other artificial products. Natural products and materials have a timeless and unique appearance, are more in tune with nature and last longer. It is generally accepted that natural stone is the preferred choice for most experts in construction and landscaping who tend, as their first inclination, to choose natural stone. Natural stone often improves as it weathers, and is extraordinarily durable, so it will never fade and it keeps your home looking terrific as the years go on.

Bellarine Springs’ architectural inspiration has been drawn from Architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright designed a house called Fallingwater (see below), which was built between 1936 and 1939 over a waterfall in southwest Pennsylvania.  The house instantly became famous, and today it is a National Historic Landmark. Fallingwater has stacked stone features throughout, which set the inspiration for our homes.

If you take a closer look at our stone entrance features, you will see fossil fern markings, as illustrated in the photos below. Only natural stone is able to offer such rich features.

We use a natural stone called Baw-Baw and it arrives in individual pieces in a crate.  We then require the rare skills of a Stone Mason to meticulously select and shape each piece to create the perfectly straight lines that end up looking just right.  Each entrance feature takes approximately three weeks to complete and is a real work of art.

We then cap it off with an engraved piece of granite from Perth with a hand painted reflective house number.

This attention to detail and commitment to using quality products in our build are a reflection of the superior homes that Bellarine Springs is known for.  Our homes are beautiful and timeless in design and are built to last with low maintenance and quality long-lasting construction materials.
